FreqOut is a site-survey tool for production sound on iOS and iPadOS. Before you deploy wireless mics on a film, TV, or theatre job, sweep the UHF band with an RTL-SDR dongle to see what's already occupying the spectrum at the venue — then pick clear frequencies with confidence.
Serious RF coordination on iOS has largely meant compromising, or carrying an
Android tablet just to run one. FreqOut brings a real spectrum survey workflow —
sweep passes, trace stitching, a clear waterfall view — to the iPad already in
your kit, using an inexpensive RTL-SDR dongle reached over the network via
rtl_tcp. No demodulation, no desktop software: just a sweep of the
band and a picture of what's clear.
